Pastor Fred Campbell, a Los Angeles native, began preaching at the tender age of fifteen. An alumni of California Baptist University in Riverside, California and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA, Pastor Campbell is passionate about spiritual growth, equipping and empowering those he preaches and teaches to through the Word.
Over the expanse of his preaching & teaching ministry, Pastor Campbell has been afforded numerous opportunities to preach, lecture and serve in National, State and Local capacities. He serves as Board Member & Historian for the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. and has served as President, Congress of Christian Education President, Christian Education Director, Dean, and Financial Secretary for the California State Baptist Convention, Inc.
Most notably, under the focus of building healthy churches, he served as President of the California State Baptist Convention, Inc. from 2002 until 2007. With his leadership, the California State Baptist Convention became a nationally known convention that focused on being a ministry resource to its participating churches. The California State Baptist Convention experienced growth financially, numerically and in ministry. He is the founder of the National Bible Conference, a bi-yearly conference hosted by the California State Baptist Convention, drawing renowned speakers and delegates from throughout the United States.
In 2000, he and his wife, Joyce, founded Shepherd Tent Ministries, Inc. a ministry dedicated to equipping and nurturing the pastor and his family. This ministry hosts conferences & workshops and provides support to many ministers and their families.
Pastor Campbell began his pastoral ministry at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Banning, California, where he served ten years. For over 30 years, he has been pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Redwood City, California. Under his pastorate, Mt. Zion has experienced tremendous spiritual growth. Many ministries have been strengthened and established as Mt. Zion seeks to make an impact in the community and throughout the world. His influence and teaching has shaped many ministers, leaders and laity as they serve in their various ministry positions.
He is the author of many books including; "Managing the Master's Money", "Managing the Master's House", "Church Operations Manual" and "Body Life".
Pastor Campbell has been married for over 45 years to his wife, Joyce Elane. Together they have six children and four grandchildren.
