Christian Education

Christian Education is a vital component of the life of the church and provides training and teaching support for every ministry. It has the task of providing the support necessary for the church effectively to accomplish its tasks. That task includes teaching the truth about God and developing the Jesus nature in the believer.

The primary objectives are:
To ensure that each member understand the basic foundation of Christian principles as it relates to the word of God and the operation of the church.

To equip the church with the resources (i.e.: classes, library, seminars and staff) for growth and development in their relationship with Christ.

To equip the body of Christ to extend the ministry outside the four walls of the church.

Growth Group Ministry (Home Bible Study)
The primary purpose and function of the Growth Group Ministry at Mount Zion is to edify the body of Christ. The groups are designed to facilitate and support the spiritual growth and maturity of the believer through Bible study and group interactions. The purpose of this ministry is to develop the fellowship by incorporating members into the life of the local congregation thereby creating a sense of belonging. The purpose of this ministry is also to encourage members of the group to minister to one another and to the world in love. This is done through evangelism, missions and good works. (Colossians 1:28-29; I John 1:3-4; I Corinthians 12:14-25.)

Every member of the church is encouraged to be apart of a growth group. The groups are designed to communicate the goals and objectives of the church and to assist in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of every member of each group. They are also designed to mobilize the church for action through the groups and to nurture Christian's growth through the Word of God.
